Hydrogel desiccation occurs when the Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate (MVTR) of the packaging is too high. We use aluminum-poly foil pouches with an 8mm heat seal. This creates a hermetic barrier that preserves the ionic mobility of the gel for the full 2-year shelf life.
