Product Overview

 

This is a high-viscosity ionic medium designed for TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) applications. It functions as a bridge to reduce skin-to-electrode contact resistance, primarily used for re-hydrating aged hydrogel pads or as a primary medium for rubber/carbon electrodes.

    Unlike generic coupling agents that use sodium chloride to boost conductivity, this formula is salt-free. High salinity in gels causes rapid oxidation and pitting of the stainless steel pins and nickel-plated snap connectors on TENS hardware. This polymer-based ionic path protects the hardware interface from chemical degradation.

     

  • 37C Viscosity Maintenance

    Low-grade carbomer chains collapse when exposed to skin temperature (37C), leading to fluid runoff and localized shorts. We use a thermally stable cross-linking density that ensures the gel remains localized under the electrode footprint during 30-minute stimulation cycles.

     

  • Vacuum-Deaeration Process

    The production phase includes a vacuum-degassing stage to eliminate micro-bubbles. Air pockets in a conductive medium act as electrical insulators, forcing current into smaller paths and causing localized "stinging" or thermal hot spots. The resulting bubble-free medium provides uniform current density.

No. This is a conductive medium, not a skin adhesive. It is used to hydrate existing adhesive pads or to provide conductivity for non-adhesive rubber electrodes held in place by straps.
