FAQ

Q: Can this electro conductive gel be used as an ultrasound coupling gel?

A: It is strongly discouraged. Ultrasound imaging requires acoustic transmission, not electrical transmission. This gel contains active chloride salts. If used with ultrasound transducers, these salts will aggressively corrode the piezoelectric crystals and the protective rubber membrane on the expensive probe heads.

Q: Why does the gel suddenly turn into a watery liquid after being rubbed on a sweating patient for 10 minutes?

A: Human sweat contains high concentrations of sodium chloride. The polyacrylic acid lattice that keeps the gel thick is highly sensitive to external electrolytes. When the patient's sweat mixes with the gel, the excess salt breaks the polymer's internal cross-linking, causing an immediate collapse of viscosity (liquefaction).
