This TENS adhesive gel is a highly viscous, liquid-state conductive paste engineered for transdermal electrotherapy. Unlike standard, slippery ultrasound gels, this specialized formula incorporates medical-grade tackifiers. It serves a dual purpose: providing an absolute zero-void electrical bridge between the electrode and the skin, while acting as a temporary, water-soluble adhesive. It is primarily used to prolong the lifespan of desiccated hydrogel pads or to mechanically adhere non-sticky carbon/silicone rubber electrodes to the patient.   • Air-Gap Elimination & Anti-Stinging 

    When a self-adhesive TENS pad ages, its surface becomes uneven, creating microscopic air pockets between the gel and the epidermis. Because air is a dielectric insulator, the TENS machine's current is forced to funnel around these pockets, causing severe current spikes (stinging) at the points that still make contact. Applying a thin layer of this adhesive paste acts as a liquid shim. It flows into the microscopic epidermal ridges and dead zones on the pad, completely displacing the trapped air. This restores a 100% flat, uniform conductive surface, immediately eliminating focal thermal burns and stinging sensations. 

     

  • Water-Soluble Tackifier Lattice 

    Standard ultrasound gels are formulated purely for slip and glide; if used under a TENS pad, the pad will slide right off the patient. This specific gel incorporates long-chain tackifying polymers. As the gel is squeezed from the tube and exposed to body heat, it behaves as a pressure-sensitive adhesive. It possesses enough kinetic grab to hold heavy carbon/rubber electrodes against gravity on a vertical plane (like the lower back). Crucially, the tackifiers are entirely water-soluble. Post-treatment, the paste wipes away cleanly with a damp cloth, leaving zero sticky residue on the patient's skin or the reusable hardware. 

     

  • Anti-Corrosive Electrolyte Doping 

    Many conductive pastes use aggressive, cheap chlorides to boost electrical conductivity. When applied directly to premium silicone or carbon-rubber electrodes, these harsh salts chemically attack the rubber over time, causing it to harden, pit, and ultimately fail. Our formulation controls the electrolytic doping with buffered, medical-grade inorganic salts. It provides the required < 50 Ohm impedance pathway without chemically breaking down the elastomer substrates of expensive, multi-use clinic electrodes.

FAQ

Q: If I use this adhesive gel on an old TENS pad, will it make the pad permanently sticky again?

A: No. The adhesive gel provides a temporary, single-use mechanical bond and conductive bridge for that specific therapy session. Once you peel the pad off after the 30-minute treatment, the liquid gel matrix breaks down and transfers onto the skin. You must wash the residue off your skin and apply a new drop of gel to the pad for the next session.

Q: Can I use standard ultrasound gel instead of this adhesive paste for my TENS electrodes?

A: You can, but you will lose all mechanical grip. Ultrasound gel is formulated with zero tackifiers; its sole purpose is to reduce friction so a wand can glide over the skin. If you apply ultrasound gel to a TENS pad, the pad will become extremely slippery and slide out of position, requiring medical tape to hold it in place. Our adhesive gel provides both the conductivity and the required structural "grab."
