Electrode Pad Adhesive Gel

Electrode Pad Adhesive Gel
Details:
The base solvent is reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water. To achieve electrical conductivity, specific inorganic salts (chlorides) are titrated into the liquid phase to create an active ionic conduit.

Unlike standard thin ultrasound gels, this "adhesive" variant requires the introduction of specialized long-chain polymers (such as PVP or modified cellulosics).

These polymers generate a dense, sticky internal friction that resists gravity and securely holds lightweight silicone or carbon electrodes against vertical skin surfaces.

The compound is homogenized in high-shear vacuum vats to mechanically extract micro-bubbles, preventing isolated air pockets that cause electrical arcing (stinging) during TENS/EMS output.

MOQ:3,000 white bottles + stickers; 10,000 custom-printed bottles.

OEM Electrode Adhesive Gel | Liquid Conductive Paste | TOP-RANK

B2B viscous liquid conductive gel for reusable carbon and rubber electrodes. Formulated with tackifying polymers and high-molarity electrolytes to establish a low-impedance, self-adhering ionic bridge.

Product Overview

This formulation is a high-viscosity, water-based liquid conductive gel. It is not a solid hydrogel patch. It is engineered to be dispensed directly onto non-adhesive reusable carbon/rubber electrodes or diagnostic suction cups. The liquid matrix serves a dual purpose: delivering precise chloride electrolytes to conduct therapy milliamperes (mA) or micro-volt ($\mu$V) diagnostic signals, while utilizing long-chain tackifying polymers to temporarily adhere the rubber hardware to the patient's epidermis. We supply this liquid consumable in retail tubes and bulk vats to physical therapy distributors and clinical diagnostic OEMs.

Technical/Engineering Description

The base solvent is reverse-osmosis (RO) purified water. To achieve electrical conductivity, specific inorganic salts (chlorides) are titrated into the liquid phase to create an active ionic conduit. Unlike standard thin ultrasound gels, this "adhesive" variant requires the introduction of specialized long-chain polymers (such as PVP or modified cellulosics). These polymers generate a dense, sticky internal friction that resists gravity and securely holds lightweight silicone or carbon electrodes against vertical skin surfaces. The compound is homogenized in high-shear vacuum vats to mechanically extract micro-bubbles, preventing isolated air pockets that cause electrical arcing (stinging) during TENS/EMS output.MOQ:3,000 white bottles + stickers; 10,000 custom-printed bottles.

Key Features

  • Gravity-Resistant Tackifier Rheology

Traditional liquid conductive gels are highly lubricious, causing carbon electrodes to slip off the patient's shoulders or lower back unless aggressively taped down. This formulation alters the fluid rheology by increasing the polymer cross-tangling in the liquid state. The resulting paste acts as a temporary liquid adhesive. It anchors the hardware strictly over the targeted motor point or nerve root, maintaining positional accuracy during the kinetic movement of an EMS muscle contraction.

  • High-Molarity Ionic Bridge

Air and dry skin are extreme electrical insulators. Applying a dry rubber electrode directly to the skin creates a high-impedance bottleneck; the pulse generator must force the voltage higher, causing the current to arc across the microscopic air gaps and severely burn the epidermis. This liquid gel floods the microscopic topography of the skin and the porous surface of the carbon rubber pad. The dissolved salts create an absolute 100% contact area, dropping the resistance instantly below 50 Ohms and delivering a flat, shock-free milliampere dispersion.

  • Water-Soluble Hardware Preservation

Gels formulated with oils, lipids, or incompatible solvents aggressively degrade the carbon lattice of expensive reusable clinical electrodes, causing them to crack and lose conductivity over time. This paste is 100% water-soluble and chemically inert to medical-grade rubbers and silicones. It does not dry into a hard crust during a standard 45-minute therapy session. Post-treatment, the gel wipes completely clean from both the patient and the electrode using only a damp cloth, preserving the hardware's lifecycle.

Applications

Clinical Reusable Electrodes

Primary conductive/adhesive coupling medium for thick carbon-rubber pads used in continuous high-volume physical therapy clinics.

ECG Suction Bulb Adhesion

Provides both micro-volt signal conduction and the airtight viscous seal necessary for chest suction electrodes to maintain a vacuum grip.

TENS Pad Rehydration / TENS

A drop of this viscous gel can be smeared over standard solid hydrogel pads that have lost their stickiness, temporarily restoring their tack and electrical conductivity for extended home use.

OEM & Private Label

  • Viscosity Customization : The fluid mechanics can be titrated to match specific clinical demands-from a highly stringy, tacky paste for heavy back electrodes, to a smoother, medium-tack gel for delicate facial stimulation probes.

  • Packaging & Routing : Wholesale chemical compounding occurs in our China vats. Automated cleanroom tube filling (e.g., 250ml squeeze tubes with flip-caps) and bulk 5-liter jug distribution are routed through our Vietnam hub to manage supply chain continuity and optimize global medical liquid tariffs.

Certifications

  • Biocompatibility : Chemical tracking and final filled batches are tested against ISO 10993-5 (Cytotoxicity) and ISO 10993-10 (Sensitization) limits for prolonged transdermal contact.

  • Systems : Liquid handling, high-shear vacuum degassing, and volumetric extrusion lines operate strictly within audited ISO 13485:2016 frameworks.

FAQ

Q: Can this liquid adhesive gel be used as an ultrasound couplant?

A: Absolutely not. This formulation is intentionally loaded with inorganic chloride salts to conduct electrical current. If applied to a piezoelectric ultrasound probe, these salts will chemically corrode the transducer's rubber lens and destroy the expensive imaging hardware. It is strictly for electrical stimulation and recording.

Q: Will the tackifying polymers leave a permanent sticky residue on the reusable rubber pads?

A: No. Unlike medical adhesives or solid glues, the tackifying agents in this formulation are completely water-soluble long-chain polymers. They provide mechanical friction when hydrated, but break down instantly when rinsed with warm water, leaving the rubber electrode pristine.

B2B clinical equipment distributors and diagnostic hardware brands can request liquid gel prototypes and electrochemical impedance documentation.
