Custom TENS Electrode Gel

This custom TENS electrode gel is a configurable ionic interface designed for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation hardware. It functions as a bridge to eliminate the micro-air gaps between the skin and non-adhesive electrodes (such as carbon rubber or stainless steel). Unlike standard gels, this formulation allows for adjustments in viscosity and ionic concentration to match specific pulse generator outputs. We supply this medium in bulk or private-label tubes for medical device OEMs.

• Hardware-Specific Viscosity Calibration 

  Standard gels are often too runny for overhead applications or too thick for fine-tip dispensers. We titrate the carbomer density to achieve specific centipoise (cP) targets. This ensures the gel maintains its physical shape on the electrode surface without dripping, while remaining fluid enough to penetrate the stratum corneum's microscopic ridges for a low-resistance connection. 

   

• Electrolyte-Driven Impedance Matching

  TENS devices with different voltage-current curves require specific interface resistance. By adjusting the NaCl or KCl concentration, we calibrate the baseline impedance of the gel. This prevent signal attenuation in diagnostic ECG applications and ensures that high-mA pulses in EMS/TENS are delivered to the motor units without excessive thermal buildup at the skin interface. 

   

• Evaporative Rate Suppression 

  A common failure in long-term monitoring is gel desiccation, which leads to a sudden spike in resistance. We incorporate specific ratios of propylene glycol or glycerin as humectants. These molecules bind to the water within the matrix, slowing the evaporation rate during 60-minute therapy sessions or multi-hour diagnostic protocols, maintaining a wet, conductive path.

• Container Options: Tubes from 15ml to 250ml with custom cap designs (flip-top or screw). Bulk 5L bladders for clinical refill stations. 

• Supply Chain: Chemical compounding occurs in China. Secondary packaging and global logistics routing are managed through our Vietnam facility to bypass specific trade barriers and optimize transit costs.

Regulatory: Facilities audited to ISO 13485:2016 and MDSAP. 

Safety: Materials pass ISO 10993 biocompatibility testing. SDS (Safety Data Sheets) provided for all custom formulations.
